JOHN DURST
Construction and building are in John’s blood. From childhood he grew up helping to build the family cabin, digging trenches, mixing concrete, and framing walls. Later he worked with his dad to build an addition to the family’s house. During his years at the University of Colorado John worked for a local contractor during the summer and helped to restore a local landmark building as well as other projects. After his time at CU John came back to California and went to work as an apprentice carpenter for one of the largest framing contractors in Southern California. He quickly rose thru the ranks and was superintending some of the largest projects in Southern California. Many builders were requesting John’s presence on their projects. He became known for innovation, quality and meeting or beating demanding schedules. In 1999 John decided it was time to take his skills and put them to work with long time friend and engineer Tim Mc Carthy. That is when Engineered Framing Systems was born. He has been married to his lovely wife Natalie for 23 years and enjoys many outdoor activities with Natalie and their two children.

Engineers and Builders Present or past member of: WTCA SEOASC NSPE ASCE Married to the same wonderful woman for 25 years, they have one daughter who is a PHD candidate and recipient of the Cota-Robles Fellowship and the Chancellor's Fellowship at the University of California; and son-in-law - J.D candidate Law Student at top 10 nationally ranked Law School U of A.
